12 Fashion Rental Platforms for Elegant Wedding Guest Looks
Sharing all the fashion rental platforms I know from the US and Europe for finding sustainable wedding guest dresses this summer.
July is here and wedding season is in full bloom! A few friends recently asked me where to find sustainable and chic wedding guest dresses. Believe me, I know the struggle! Scrolling endless pages or wandering stores only to find racks of synthetic dresses priced at several hundred dollars can be a daunting task.
It can be surprisingly difficult to find occasion wear that is elegant, timeless, and well made, without breaking the bank. Enter fashion rental.
A few weeks ago, I wrote about my experience renting a dress from the Parisian platform Une Robe Un Soir for my friend’s wedding in France (linked here in case you missed it). I’ve found rental fashion to be one of the best solutions for dressing smart and sustainable at the same time, especially during special occasions.
Speaking of Une Robe Un Soir, they just gave me a 15% discount code — SARAHMARIEDAY2025 — to share with you. This is something I haven’t seen them do before, so if you’re in Paris or elsewhere in France, definitely check out their website or better yet, stop by their stunning showroom in the 8th arrondissement to get a glimpse of their stunning dresses in person!
Why to Rent for Weddings
You can be more experimental with your style and try new colors, cuts or fabrics.
It saves space in your closet.
It's more budget-friendly than buying new evening wear.
You can access designer-quality looks without the full price tag.
It's better for the planet, especially with so many synthetic garments ending up in landfills.
You can wear something “new” to every wedding without contributing to overconsumption.
After working on a slow fashion magazine and living in cities like New York and Paris, I’ve accumulated quite a list of fashion rental platforms — some I’ve tried and loved, others are still on my list to explore.
Interestingly, rental fashion is still most common in big cities, but hopefully this guide makes it easier for you no matter where you are. Feel free to screenshot or save this for your next special occasion!

How to Choose an Engagement Ring that Becomes a Family Heirloom
When my husband proposed to me, the box didn’t have a ring. Instead, it held a note that said: Let’s go ring shopping! He knows how particular I am about what I like and your engagement ring is the one piece you’ll wear every single day!
